12 Month Program
HKA programs begin in September (second week of school) and February (middle of the month). All Performances will start in the first week of February and August. We are so excited about this because we have been doing very long productions in the summer and they have been very hard on the kids and their families and they have made it difficult for the kids to take off when the productions go for our 3 to 5 weeks. Our new schedule is much more flexible and easier to plan around. It is less intense and offers a continuity and flexibility that the families haven't had before. In a Nutshell, Here's the advantages.

1. HKA DOES MORE WITH THE KIDS
HKA needs more time with the kids because we are developing their TRIPLE THREAT skills -Singing, Dancing and Acting in our kids. This takes longer. HKA will hold weekly classes just like other Performing Arts Studios do taking time off after our shows in August. Most of these studios are only teaching one skill such as acting, voice or dance. HKA is teaching all three at once. So, the continuation of our classes for the 12 months will be significant Our shows are in February and the first week of August. The kids will take a 1 to 2 week break in February and then resume their classes. They will take a three week break in August and then they will have the rest of the month off for a break just like other studios. We will then start our new classes the first week of September.

2. LESS STRESSFUL FOR THE KIDS AND FAMILIES
Because the classes continue only once a week they are less stressful on the kids and the families. In the past our summer programs have been three to five weeks and were so much more intense and therefore harder on the kids. So, the kids don't have to come everyday for almost a month in the Summer anymore.

3. CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OVER THE SUMMER
HKA students will continue to grow and develop their skills over the summer and they won't lose all the skills they have developed during the year. They will be excited to continue working on their shows and having the positive experiences at HKA with their friends and teachers in the summer too.

4. VACATIONS ARE EASIER HKA is very flexible in the summer. Vacations are not a problem because they come only once a week and they can easily miss a class here and there and take their vacations as needed.

A. For example, in June and July they can come to class 1 day, leave the next morning, miss the next week and still have a two week vacation with only missing one day of class.
B. They will have almost the entire month of August off and therefore they can travel and do so many wonderful things.
C. Because they will have more time to work on their shows throughout the semester we just ask them to be here for the LAST THREE REHEARSALS before the show.
