Ms. Tricia Hegji - Choreography Email - mstrishhka@live.com

Tricia grew up on the east side of the Las Vegas valley. She started performing at a very young age. Her first production was Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man” in 1992 under the directions of John Morris. She has loved theatre ever since. Tricia participated in Petite Theatre, a youth community theatre, where she developed strong roots in theatrical performance. During high school she performed in several productions and started choreographing dance. In 2002, she was named “Most Talented Senior”, lettered in theatre and choir, and earned an Honor Thespian Award. Tricia’s musical training by Anne Stephens and Deborah Fleischer and theatrical training by Gary Sessa landed her an audition for acceptance to the Theatre Arts program at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She was awarded a Performing Arts Scholarship to attend MMC as a Musical Theatre major where she was trained by Paul Katz and Elizabeth Hess. Even though she LOVED New York, Tricia longed for the opportunity to perform in a more wholesome atmosphere. She then attended Brigham Young University as a Directing major under the direction of Rodger Sorenson and vocal performance training by Barry Bonous. She was also a dance minor and was selected to be a part of the International Folk Dance Team under the direction of Ed Austin and Gary Larsen. After meeting her wonderfully supportive husband at BYU, they moved to Portland, Oregon, where Tricia did choreography for area dance festivals and several musicals. She and her husband then returned to Las Vegas to attend UNLV. Upon her return, Tricia was quickly welcomed back into the performing arts community and was hired by several middle and high schools to choreograph for their show choirs and musicals. She graduated from UNLV in May 2009 with a degree in Dramatic Literature and a Theatre minor. When Tricia was approached by Margie Seastrand, a long-time friend, for a position as a choreographer / assistant director at Hollywood Kids Academy for the Performing Arts, she jumped at the chance to be involved with such a great program. She knows the growth that comes through experience in the theatre and the importance of a morally sound environment, both of which are provided by Hollywood Kids.
