Nicki Avery
 Stage director/choreographer
Contemporary Dance teacher
Nicki Avery has her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University in Dance Education. She has been the choreographer for BYU's Vocal Point, director of the dance program at Temple Beth Sholom Early Childhood Center, teacher and choreographer for JuliArts school of dance, Bunker Dance Center theater program, Kids in Motion, BYU Children’s Dance program, and D.A.N.C.E. She is the founder and director of DanceArt, and choreographer for MANY different shows and performances at Brigham Young University and in the Las Vegas area. Her dance works have been presented at professional events through out the state of Utah and Nevada, most recently at BYU for their official Symposium of Dance. She has directed, choreographed, and performed in shows such as Camelot, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Greese, We Go Together, Little Luncheonette of Horror and more. She has worked at schools throughout the Las Vegas community to help bring the Arts to many children through music and dance. She especially enjoys directing and choreographing shows here at Hollywood Kids Academy and had a great year with Ovation as their Assistant Director and Choreographer. She returns to BYU every summer to learn and perform at an intensive summer workshop in dance, choreography, and teaching, and enjoys being challenged and growing professionally and personally while working with choreographers and directors from all over the world. She is married to her wonderful husband, Matt, (who she met choreographing for BYU's Vocal Point, of which he was a member) and she has six wonderful children who keep her busy at all times |

| 08/18/2011 | If you are auditioning for STARS or APPLAUSE please bring a headshot and resume', be prepared with a one minute memorized monologue (any monologue containing anything other than family friendly material will not be allowed) , a CD of your song (Karaoke only), marked with song title and your full name. Dress in dance clothes and have your hair pulled back off your face.
Auditions start promptly at 10:00 AM and will be done when we have seen the last performer. We may excuse you after your dance portion is complete. |
